Steep Rock Honey is a project of the Steep Rock Association, a land trust located in Washington, CT that protects and preserves land here and in surrounding communities.
The project was conceived of and is led by Kirsten Feldman, Chair of the Steep Rock board, who has kept bees at her home in Washington for ten years.
Our goal is to create a new source of support for the maintenance of the Steep Rock trails while raising awareness of the importance of biodiversity to the health of bees and other species. Steep Rock will receive all profits of the venture, after we compensate the beekeepers of course.
We currently protect over 5,000 acres, which represents about 20% of the Town. Steep Rock maintains 40 miles of hiking trails that are open to the public. > Learn more about the Steep Rock Association
